USE OF INTERNET COOKIES
This site doesn’t place permanent cookies its visitors’ hard drives, it simply uses a temporary cookie to enhance certain functions of the site.
USE OF GOOGLE ANALYTICS
CALACS des Rivières uses Google Analytics on its website: it is a tool to measure Internet traffic. Google Analytics collects data about the navigation on the site, and the data is stored on outside servers, including in the United States. Google could give this information to a third party if legally obligated to do so, or if the third party is analyzing the data for the CALACS.
Some of the information that could be collected: the date, the time of day, the time spent on the page, the frequency of visits, and the links a user clicks. The computer’s operating system and language, the name of the Internet provider and geographic position (region) is also recorded. The IP address is also recorded, but the full address is truncated to protect the confidential nature of user information. IP anonymization sets the number’s last digits to zeroes to ensure that the user’s identity cannot be retraced using the IP address.
Google uses this data to collect statistics and report on website navigation, which in turn helps CALACS improve its online service offer. Google will never combine the data collected from this site, with any other data.
Users can choose to block Google from collecting browser data by installing a Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
AUTOMATIC EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION
When you visit the CALACS des Rivières website, your computer and the host server automatically exchange certain data. This exchange is necessary, for the server to deliver a file that is compatible with the computer equipment you are using. Here is the information involved:
- the domain name of your Internet provider;
- your IP address, a unique number that is assigned to your computer when you connect to the Internet;
